9/24/06 - Fishing has been disrupted by constant
rain which has left local streams high and muddy for
extended periods. When conditions are suitable for
fishing, small flies have still been the key to
success. Terrestrials are still effective and will
remain a good choice until cold weather sets in.
Trout will be stocked in the DHALO area in Oct.
Larger and gaudier flies will be effective for these
fish. Steelhead fishing is about the only fishing
that has benefited from the constant rain. Plan your
trips to correspond with falling water levels. Most
Erie tributaries will have reached prime condition
1-2 days after heavy rain. |

Unfortunately I cannot
fish everyday. Thus, my report might not be as recent as
you would like. If you find that my report is out date
or if you suspect that recent weather conditions may
have significantly affected the stream, you should check
the daily report found on
The
Neshannock Creek Fly Shop web site. |
