Stream Conditions

Weather: 50's and rainy
Water: high, fast, and murcky by the EOD
Flies: woolies, prince nymphs, olive hares ear, phaesant tail
Didn't realize it was opening day until I get there. There were a good fifty people in that section when we arived at 8 AM. The water early in the morning was on the high side and there was still decent visibility. The rain however, just kept coming and coming and the water just kept rising and rising. Hit the tri-fecta early on..... rainbow, perch, and snagged a sucker. After that it was slim pickings. The continueos rain chased most of the folks away. Well, that and no one seemed to be catching anything. I buckled down and got after it, but could only drum up a few tickles. All of which promptly spit the hook after the brief moment of exhileration that follows a strike. It was a tough day out there, but the kind that makes you appreciate the good days that much more.
