Stream Conditions

Weather: mild, breezy
Water: low and clear
Flies: beetles
Once again there were plenty of fish in sight, but so was I. Tried various nymphs, a few dry's, egg paterns, worm patterns, and didn't catch a thing for three hours until I put on the trusty #14 beetle. Caught three in the last half hour of fishing, one of which was a rainbow around 13". The other two were very small. Basically had the stream to myself from Noon until around 4:00 PM. That's a first! What a great place to play hookie from work. Good thing I live two hours away or I might not ever work!
