Water: Perfect
Flies: hellgramites, crippled minnows, crayfish
Fished Saturday with great success. I fished off of Rt.19 downstream from Leesburgh Station Rd. Water was in great shape for smallmouth fishing. Bass were holding in undercuts and around structure. Floated hellgramites through the faster water and slowly stripped them through the slow holes. Caught numerous fish but landed 2 hogs around a downed tree. If your planning a trip this time of year is ideal for bass and should be very good all the way into the fall as the bass begin to fatten up for winter. Keep the flies on the bottom and work them SLOW!!! I also got a beautiful rainbow and a little extra treat!
